I’m here to say that it is possible to grow your audience organically on Instagram.

Is it hard work? Yes. But with a few different tactics it possible to build a solid and engaging audience that trusts you.

First things first, you need to be active on Instagram. You cannot expect to grow organically if you only post once or twice a month. You need to post at least once a day on your feed. If not once a day on your feed, you need to be very active on instagram stories. Instagram stories are a great tool to help you connect with your audience on a personal level. You can share BTS of your day, share the content that you have produced etc. It’s important to use geotags and hashtags via stories so that when people search them they can find you ORGANICALLY. Takes notes!

Outside of being active on Instagram you will need to be intentional about the content that you post. That takes planning and research. Take polls & ask for suggestions via Insta-stories to find out what your audience wants to see. Once you find that out, you can plan the type of content you want to produce. Whether it’s more videos or informational instagram posts, take into account the suggestions that your audience has given but make your own.

One of the biggest tips of them all is that you have to be consistent. Once you begin to build your audience they will depend on you being consistent. Consistency is KEY! Figure out a schedule that works for you as far as posting on social media and stick to it. Having a content calendar also helps.

While being consistent on social media, you also need to interact and engage with your audience. The quickest way to lose a follower or lose the attention of your audience is by ignoring them. Don’t post a picture or a video and then go ghost. Even as a content creator If I comment on someone’s content and they don’t even like the comment I am less likely to comment again. Stick around and respond to comments and compliments as they roll in. It’s honestly a sure sign that you’re committed to letting your audience know that you appreciate them supporting you.

In addition to integrating and engaging with your audience, you need to follow new people. The best growth comes from adding new people to your follow list. Commenting and engaging with other people is a great way to grow organically.

Last and certainly not least, Create Quality Content. Create content that your audience will consume, research trends and invest in your brand. Buy lighting if the lighting in your house is bad. Buy a tripod and a remote so that you can take pictures on your own if you have to. All of these things are super important when it comes to creating quality content.
