I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY until I was 8 years old and then my mom moved us (myself and my little brother) to Charlotte, NC. Lived in Charlotte the majority of my life so Id definitely call myself an expert when it comes to the ins and outs of “Where to Shop” and “Where to eat”. This post is dedicated to just that! So sit back and open you notes app so you’ll be prepared to check out all my suggestions on your next trip to Charlotte!

Fill your belly

Breakfast/Brunch:

Flying Biscuit- best damn breakfast in Charlotte! Grits are fire and that chicken apple sausage, no words! Be prepared to wait but its totally worth it.

Terrace Cafe- Goooooooddd French Toast, all the food is pretty tasty. Another wait but get there at a decent time youll be fine. (South Charlotte)

Midnight Diner- cheap, good and quick food. (Uptown Charlotte)

Original Pancake House- Not to be confused with IHOP is another damn delicious breakfast spot! (Uptown Charlotte)

5Church- is a cute and chic brunch spot. Food is good too!

Dinner:

House of Taipei/House of Leng- Best Chinese food in Charlotte! The BBQ spare ribs are the truth!

Viva Chicken- Clean Peruvian food! Love the green sauce its a MUST. Get the quarter chicken with, cilantro rice and green beans you wont be disappointed! 

Pinkys- good cheap food and drinks! Just about everything is good on the menu. Trust me! 

Merts Soul Food- Big portions! The Soul Rolls are FIRE! 

Fast Food:

Zaxbys- love a good quick buffalo wings spot but the Texas toast is on POINT!

Cookout- I keep it pretty simple here but the Banana pudding shake is to die for! 

Food Trucks: 

Ace of Spuds– Black Owned Loaded Potato food truck! Haven’t had the pleasure of trying it yet but I know the owner and shes a dope GIRL BOSS from Charlotte. Make sure you support!

Papi Queso– The BEST DAMN Grilled Cheese Truck in Charlotte, I recommend the Pig Mac grilled cheese. It’s delicious!

Sweets:

Rico’s Acai- The BEST Acai spot in Charlotte, and its one of my favorites. I get the Rainbow bowl and they have a few locations around Charlotte.

Duck Donuts-BEST CAKE DONUTS EVER! So fresh and they have weird hours so you’ll want to get there before they close!

Where to Shop

Ill keep it honest I shop just about everywhere! Target, Ross, TjMaxx! But Ill be kind and share some of my gems!

Shoe Trend- Cute cheap shoes, theyll get you right! Theres two locations in Charlotte google it for the addresses.

Concord Mills- Forever21 & Nike Factory Outlet

Northlake Mall- Forever21 & Love Culture

Carolina Place Mall- has a lot of cute random stores that sell boutique items for the low!

Thrift Stores- Any Value Village or Goodwill

Where to Chill/Go Out

Epicentre-The Epicentre is located in uptown Charlotte and has a good handful of restaurants, lounges/bars/clubs and other entertainment all in one. The diner is pretty good and Most of the bars and clubs are chill and diverse for the most part. I didnt go out much when I lived in Charlotte but I did frequent day parties here.

Top Golf– Located in just about every major city, Top Golf has good food, drinks and of course golf that’s not Putt Putt! So brace yourselves for the embarrassment!
